HARDCORE: after the ri-DONC-ulous voyeur press party, I came home, slept for two hours, then drove into the city with some butterfly chairs and an umbrella to wait on line for the new iPhone. This is not because HBO asked me to, or because they have a thing going on with Cingular. This is because I am a gadget addict, and I will not let something as trite as sleep or rain keep me away from my Soma. The iPhone is pure goodness and I MUST HAVE ONE.
Apparently I’m not alone.

As for last nights launch party…I’ll let the 133 pictures I took speak for themselves. I’m off, I need to relieve my girlfriend from spot-saving on the line. It could get ugly.
You can find the HBO LAUNCH PARTY PICS on my Flickr account:

The HBOvoyeur site is live now and the questions are already flooding in. I’ve updated the F.A.Q. page to include more site info. Right now there are millions of people checking it out at the SAME TIME, so don’t be surprised if the transfer is a little slow.
In offline news, the film projection at Broome and Ludlow is this evening, rain or shine. Since I’m running this blog, I get to go to the Press Party beforehand and booze it up. Since HBO is all classy I’m guessing it will be more than G&R’s greatest hits and a keg, and I’m bringing my camera so you’ll see how it goes.
Keep Watching…
Last night I looked at the apartment building across from my window and I wondered if I was being watched. Voyeurism is a fuzzy idea. Here I am maybe being watched by nameless neighbors from across the street at night - and then also writing on a public tablet during the day. Sure I’m being read, not being watched, but at the end of the day, I am on display. An exhibitionist even. Does that mean that blogging is a fetish? If you’re a blogger, ask yourself: isn’t the thrill of baring yourself to the public really about the potential for an audience?
Truthfully, it doesn’t matter who the individuals are. Bloggers reveal themselves to the Audience, not to You.
In response to so many of your comments -
At 1pm on Thursday, June 28, the HBO Voyeur website, HBOvoyeur.com is going live.
At 9:00 pm on Thursday, June 28, HBO’s Voyeur Film will premiere in New York City at the corner of Broome Street and Ludlow Street. It will be projected in gigantic scale on the side of the building.
I don’t know how they are going to handle the audience but I think there will be bleachers.
Also on Thursday, June 28, another piece of HBO’s Voyeur will be revealed on the HBO on Demand service in a short film called “Watcher”
I don’t know anything about other websites, films, series.
Yesterday at the projection test, HBO turned the side of a building into a lightbox. Here’s what happened in tech/spec speak.:
“This event is supported by state-of-the-art digital cinema equipment including two Christie Digital Roadie HD25k projectors and Doremi uncompressed HD video players. With 50,000 lumens of available light output, the 75’ wide image will be bright, with properly saturated color. Using 2k DLP projection technology, the tiny details that make up the complex imagery will be plainly visible.”
-wise tech guy
In normal person speak that means YOUR EYES WILL BE BLOWN AWAY.
Here are three camphone pics I took, but they don’t even begin to do it justice. HBO lent me a real camera but it got taken away by this guy who said the crew needed it for the production. wtf?

I still don’t know what happened to the pictures I took.
Lots to post today, yesterday HBO had a projection test of the Voyeur film and it was mind blowing. Imagine an IMAX screen in high def, glowing on the side of a building. I took lots of pics which I’ll post once I get my camera back from that weird guy with the hat.
Another peek into what the character stories will be with two more video clips from the edit house. The first one is tagged “the grown up table” and shows a bunch of people partying while one guy stands off to the side. They don’t skimp on the flesh with this one.
And just to keep us guessing, here’s another clip tagged “proposal”. Of course they don’t mention the FREAKY GHOST THAT FLIES THROUGH THE FLOOR.
Projection test pics still to come…
Your comments we’re right - especially you loulou (little brat) … I mistyped. HBO will be showing pieces of the film on their channel and on demand. I was wrong, the revolution WILL be televised. Public Enemy: Respect.
And because TSGD is the exclusive blog, here’s what the editing house messengered over this morning:
I hate to be Captain Obvious but THAT MAN LOOKS DEAD TO ME.
Here’s another one thats feels a little more voyeuristic.
I went with my girlfriend today to the corner of Broome and Ludlow today to see what the location of the film projection looked like. They painted a gigantic HBO logo on the side of this building and painted it brilliant white. Checkitout:

If its hard to tell, the wall is really big. I was feeling kind of New York chic so after I snooped around we went to the bar across the street and had some afternoon martinis. I took more pictures.

The girl protested but I told her I’m a Voyeur, and I like to see what people do when they don’t want their picture taken.
A lot of the comments have been about the characters - who are they and whats their deal. (And some of you just like the pom-poms)
As far as I know all the characters are listed in this phone book that HBO gave me to link to. The only visuals I have are these early character sketches from development but they may have changed since then.

I’m still don’t know who the pom-pom woman is but I hope she’s not the chick with the knives.
…BUT IT WILL BE PROJECTED ON THE SIDE OF A BUILDING???
Yesterday I sat in on a media marketing meeting and there is no question, it is 100% TRUE - HBO will be projecting a high definition version of the Voyeur film on the side of a building at the corner of Broome and Ludlow in New York City. I snagged a couple of camphone shots for anyone who’s got that office voyeur fetish.
MmmHmm, papers and keyboards are such a turn-on. Bad bad boy, get me some coffee!

Its hard to see in these poor quality pics but the booklet has the word “projection” on it. Thats all I need to know, for those who don’t live in New York City, I’m going to take a trip to the corner of Broome and Ludlow and snap some pictures of the location. I’m curious.
Stay tuned…
